LensFlares App Reviews
Really like the app. If you know how you can do your photo better with light the app will give everything you want. Ive rated 5 but is waiting for fullscreen mode.
Nice and easy-to-use app, EXCEPT no support for iPhoto. What an oversight! iPhoto users generally should avoid to create photo files outside of the iPhoto Library. 1- I can Drag&Drop an image from iPhoto to LensFlare, but no easy way to put back directly to iPhoto. Sure I can save to a file and import to iPhoto, but this is an unecessary multi-step and complicated workflow, and then I have to go back to Finder to clean-up and delete that file. I am supervising/tutoring basic users, they get comfortable with iPhoto but always get into trouble with the file system, it is much better when this is avoided. One trick I found, very unelegant, is to Share to eMail, then drag & Drop from Mail to iPhoto. This way I dont create a file, I only have to close the email without saving it. But doing so, there is a risk to make a mistake and loose resolution. 2- Using LensFlare as iPhoto External Editor does not help either. Putting the image into LendFlare works, but saving it does not put it back to iPhoto, it asks for a location and file name. This is clearly a missed opportunity to have simple workflow built around iPhoto (or Aperture). Without this issue, I would rate close to 5 stars
Very good app. Flare effects are cool. Wish it had some addition, unique visual effects that would make stand out from all of the other similar Apps but I have no major complaints!
It’d be awesome if only...
It didn’t crash every time I tried saving.. so, that makes it useless.
Will not load image
Try to open anything other than a super low-res jpeg and all you get is a black, empty window. Not very useful!
I love this app. I lost my lens flares when I upgraded my OS and could no longer use Painter. I decided to go with the less expensive version by BrainFeverMedia and couldnt be happier. Theres a really nice selection of flares. Cool looking interface. And no lag even with larger images. If the Pro version ever comes down in price Ill most likely buy it that day.
